A bath is a known volume. A typical full tub is about 30–50 gallons, depending on size and how high you fill it. One bath can exceed a short shower. A shallow soak can land under a long luxury shower. The comparison is gallons, not the shape of the plumbing.
Kids’ baths, topping off as it cools, and two people using the same water once are different habits. Hot fill also hits the water heater if that heater is electric or gas.

Fill height
A shallow soak can beat a long rain-head shower. A full soaker tub can exceed it. Measure gallons by how high you fill, not the shape of the porcelain.
