A console in rest mode is a few watts to many tens of watts, depending on the model and whether it is allowed to keep the disk spinning or download all night. Playing is usually 50–200 watts. The surprise is rest mode × 24 hours, not the Saturday session.
Instant-on features are a comfort setting with a price. Fully powered off is the cheap setting. Rest-mode updates overnight can be worth it to you; Whatt will still show the hours.
The TV’s watts are a separate card. Price both if the Saturday night stack is what you want to see.
Use a rest-mode wattage for the hours it sits, and a playing wattage for session hours, or pick the habit that matches how you actually leave it.
At 18.8¢ per kWh, 15 watts of rest mode for 24 hours is 0.36 kWh — about 0.07 a day, about 2.00 in 30 days. Playing at 120 watts for 3 hours is about 0.07 that session. Rest mode is the quiet month-long line.
