A well house or pump pit often has a cheap incandescent left on all winter. The heat is the point — 60 watts around the clock is about 1.44 kWh a day, enough to keep pipes from freezing in a small enclosed space. That is not a lighting bill. It is a tiny heater wearing a bulb.
In summer you do not want that heat. Switch the same socket to an LED if you still want light when you open the door, or unplug it. A freeze thermostat only runs on cold nights — if you have one, drop the hours in Whatt instead of leaving 24/7 year-round.
A 250 W heat lamp in a tight well house is a lot of heat and a fire risk. Most pits are a caged 60 W appliance bulb. This card is electricity only. Gallons the pump moves are Well pump and the Water tab.
